Who We Are

As a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency, 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is into its fifth decade of providing a team of specially trained staff to assist callers through its  211 HelpLine with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, information, assessment and referral to community services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Services are provided to residents of Palm Beach, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties at no cost to anyone regardless of race, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.


Reporting to and in partnership with the President & CEO, the Director of Development will spearhead development efforts as 211 Palm Beach | Treasure Coast continues to grow. S/he will develop and implement a strategic and comprehensive development plan to support operations and capital needs and increase overall giving to the agency.

The Director of Development will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and executing a comprehensive development strategy for the Agency including grant identification/solicitation, major gifts, planned giving, special events, donor cultivation/stewardship and capital campaigns.

IDEAL Qualifications of a Candidate:

  • Substantial leadership experience within a sophisticated fundraising operation, preferably in a social services agency.
  • Success implementing fundraising plans and cultivating relationships for all funding streams.
  • Demonstrated success as a front-line major gift solicitor at the six-figure level and beyond.
  • Proven track record of identifying and engaging new communities of prospective donors.
  • Knowledge of the regional and national philanthropic communities.
  • Experience across digital and social as well as traditional platforms.
  • Vision to inspire others.
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Capacity to successfully manage and lead multiple communications and fundraising campaigns.


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum five years' experience in fundraising with a nonprofit organization, preferably in social services.
  • Proven success in development for a mid-sized nonprofit with fundraising from multiple donor channels and funding sources.
