As a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency, 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is into its fifth decade of providing a team of specially trained staff to assist callers through its  211 HelpLine with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, information, assessment and referral to community services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 211 Palm Beach | Treasure Coast is seeking an experienced Grant Writer and Coordinator to assist the President/CEO in identifying public and private funders and preparing grant proposals to meet the strategic priorities and goals the agency. The position also includes working closely with the program's manager to ensure accurate programmatic reporting and compliance on all grants. The full range of skills and responsibilities relevant to private and public fund-raising are required for this position, including strong writing, verbal communication, and analytical capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and research private and public funding sources for the agency's programs and services.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
  • Develop/write proposals (including narrative and budget development) for the agency ensuring proposals meet funder's requirements.
  • Assist with the development and submission of grant proposals and progress reports in accordance with each funder's guidelines.
  • Complete and submit to funders mid-term and final reports along with other required documents.
  • Work with finance to track fund disbursements and develop financial reports.
  • Maintain grant-related reference resources including funder research files, grant application deadlines, grant reporting schedules, and other information as required.
  • Act as the centralized point of contact for all agency funders and maintain tracking sheets for all funding applications and reports.
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly reports for all grant-related activities.
  • Prepare stewardship materials as needed including letters, briefing materials and special documents.
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of the Agency's mission, programs, target population and strategic vision.
  • Compile data for board and metric reports to measure impact.
  • Additional duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in English, Communications or related field.
  • Three or more years of grant writing experience, including serving as the lead writer and budget developer on grant proposals
  • Extensive knowledge of grant reporting processes, including electronic submission.
  • Proven track record of producing successful grant applications.
  • Ability to effectively develop and analyze grant budgets.
  • Knowledge of the grant application process (including electronic submission) and federal grant rules.
  • Knowledge of post-award grant processes.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Experience in project management and evaluation.
  • Experience with COA standards & processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior proof-reading, information gathering and listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and ability to communicate complex information.
  • Detail and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
